Scovl: Consumer App Launch
Founder, Designer, Developer · 2025 to 2026
A consumer mobile app, designed, built, and shipped by one person across iOS and Android.
The Problem
Building a consumer mobile app usually takes a coordinated team: a designer, a brand lead, frontend and backend engineers, a product manager, and a marketer. The case for a senior creative leader who can also operate the technical stack is hard to make on paper. Scovl was a deliberate proof.
The Approach
Owned every stage of the product. Brand identity from naming through wordmark and visual system. Product strategy and feature prioritization for a focused v1. UI and UX at component, screen, and flow level. Full-stack implementation with React, Supabase, and Netlify. App store submission, asset preparation, and review response for both platforms. Web presence at scovl.app, with post-launch iteration in response to real user signal.
The Outcome
Shipped to the iOS App Store and Google Play in April 2026, live and under continued iteration. The launch validated the central thesis: a senior creative leader with technical fluency can ship a complete consumer product without staffing a team around them. The same model applies to brand systems, internal tools, microsites, and prototypes.
